    07 Dec, 2011 04:39 PM
A police officer has been shot near Nowendoc during an operation this morning to find the state's most wanted man, Malcolm Naden. The officer, attached to a specialist unit, is in a stable condition in John Hunter Hospital with a shoulder wound.
Naden is suspected of being involved in the disappearance of his cousin Lateesha Nolan in early 2005, and the murder of Kristy Scholes about six months later.
He is suspected of breaking into more than 20 isolated properties across the Barrington Tops looking for non-perishable food, camping gear, torches and guns.
Earlier this year the State Government increased the reward for information leading to Naden's capture to $100,000.
