Don’t Kill Naden, Suspected Victim’s Dad Appeals to Police

  The father of a suspected murder victim of fugitive Malcolm Naden has appealed to police not to catch him dead.

Mick Peet, whose daughter Lateesha Nolan disappeared in January 2005, said Naden may only be the person who knows where her body can be found.

"The only hope of finding her body is if Malcolm is taken into custody alive," Peet said, according to Daily Liberal. "Malcolm is the nephew of Lateesha's mother Joan Nolan and I've known him most of his life. He is very fit and an expert bushman."
Naden, 38, is also wanted for the June 2005 murder of Lateesha's friend Kristy Scholes and a 2004 aggravated indecent assault on 15-year-old girl.
Experienced tactical officers from the State Protection Group of New South Wales police force continued their search for Naden in the bushland near Nowendoc, where they found a makeshift campsite on Thursday. Assisting them are police dogs, the Police Airwing, Homicide Squad detectives and local area command resources.

Police believe Naden was the one who shot an officer searching the area on Wednesday and he used a long-arm firearm. The officer was discharged from the hospital after treatment of his gunshot wound in the shoulder.
Nowendoc residents were warned to secure their homes and report any suspicious person to 000. They were also warned not to approach Naden, who is armed and dangerous.
